Jennifer Lawrence almost died in a plane crash
Recalling the moment when she was between life and death 4 years ago, Jennifer Lawrence still can’t help but shiver. She revealed that she even recorded her farewell message in her most desperate moment.
Jennifer Lawrence luckily survived the plane crash in 2017
In the cover story of Vanity Fair’s December 2021 issue, Jennifer Lawrence recalled the terrifying moments she experienced in 2017. At her worst, the 31-year-old actress believed she was going to die on a private plane that had engine problems. At that time, the Oscar-winning actress was boarding a private plane from her hometown of Louisville to New York. Another passenger on the flight was the son of a doctor who had a long-standing relationship with her family. Before the journey ended, they were informed that the plane would make an emergency landing in Buffalo due to an unforeseen incident.
“We were all about to die. I started leaving short voicemails to my family, saying things like: I had a great life, I’m sorry,’ the Hunger Games star recalled. Talking about the reason for apologizing in what seemed to be her last messages, the 9X star said: “I just felt guilty. Everyone would be so sad. And thank God, Pippi (my dog) was still lying on my lap and that was the worst thing. She never wanted to be a part of anything that happened at that time.”
When she saw the runway full of fire trucks and ambulances, Jennifer Lawrence prayed that she would live and feared that she would be severely burned if she was lucky enough to escape. Notably, the most confusing thing for the beauty was that her hair was no longer intact. “Dear God, please let me keep my hair. Please wrap me and my hair in your loving arms. Please don’t let me go bald,” the 1990-born actress joked about her request.
The plane then hit the runway, bounced up, and then crashed down the runway again before stopping. Rescuers broke the plane’s door and got everyone out safely. Jennifer Lawrence was then put on another plane in a coma. “That incident made me very weak,” the 31-year-old beauty confided. She continued: “Flying is really scary and I have to travel a lot.”
After the near-fatal accident, Jennifer Lawrence was not affected. She continued to act and found happiness in her life. The beauty married Cooke Maroney, an art gallery director, in October 2019. Last September, the couple confirmed that they were expecting their first child. The 31-year-old star will soon return to the screen with the movie Don’t Look Up, starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. The role in this blockbuster helped the talented star pocket $25 million and make it onto the list of highest-paid actors of the past year.
While filming Don’t Look Up in Boston (USA) earlier this year, Jennifer Lawrence was hit in the eye by a piece of glass from an explosion on set, causing her to be injured but fortunately not seriously injured. After months of busy filming, she is recuperating in New York, preparing to become a mother.
