Jennifer Lawrence: Having Her First Child Feels Like a New Beginning
In the October issue of Vogue, Jennifer Lawrence revealed the name and gender of her first child for the first time. She and her husband, Cooke Maroney, welcomed their son in February.
Lawrence shared that they named their son Cy, inspired by post-war American painter Cy Twombly, a favorite of Maroney’s. Reflecting on the life-changing experience, Lawrence described the profound impact of becoming a mother. “The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over,” she told Vogue.
She expressed an overwhelming love for her new role as a mother, saying, “I was so in love. I was in love with all babies everywhere. Babies are amazing. They’re little pink, fragile people. I love all babies now.” Lawrence also noted that her love for her husband has deepened: “My heart has expanded to a capacity I didn’t know existed, including my husband…”

In a conversation with Vogue, the Silver Linings Playbook star said that she and her husband Cooke Maroney decided to name their son Cy after post-war American painter Cy Twombly, one of Maroney’s favorite artists.
“The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over,” she admitted to Vogue.
