Hulu’s upcoming female-led comedy Dollface is about the type of friend we all know — hell, maybe you are this friend: a person who disappears into whatever romantic relationship they’re in. Suddenly they stop texting you for fro-yo dates, don’t bother to meet you at Sunday morning yoga, or bail on grabbing drinks with the girls. But when the relationship ends? Poof! They’re back in your life.
That’s the cycle Dollface‘s Jules (2 Broke Girls star Kat Dennings) is trying to break after being dumped by her longtime boyfriend. Forced to “metaphorically re-enter the world of women,” according to Hulu’s official description, Jules attempts to rekindle the friendships she had with Stella (Shay Mitchell), Izzy (Esther Povitsky), and Madison (Brenda Song). Judging from the first-look photos that the streaming site released on Sept. 10, the process will involve face masks, glamorous parties, and maybe some of that aforementioned fro-yo.
The original series was created by Jordan Weiss and lists Margot Robbie as an executive producer, and Ingrid Goes West‘s Matt Spicer will executive produce and direct the first episode. Check out the sneak peek of the series ahead, and be sure to mark you calendar for Dollface‘s premiere on Nov. 15!
