Who is Fran Drescher?
Francine Joy Drescher was born on September 30, 1957 in Flushing, Queens, New York.

American actress, comedian, writer and activist best known for her starring role as Fran Fine on the popular television sitcom The Nanny.

She created and produced the television series with her then-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson.

Drescher is serving as SAG-AFTRA’s third president.


On July 13, 2023, she gave a speech at a press conference about the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike, in which she told the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) that “the incident happened.”

“It’s really important that this negotiation is kept under wraps because the eyes of the world and especially the eyes of workers are watching us,” she told the crowd.

“What happens here is important because what’s happening to us is happening across all labor sectors, as employers create Wall Street and greed their priorities, At the same time, they forget the essential contributors that keep the machine running.

“We have a problem and we’re going through it right now.” This is a very important moment for us. I seriously thought we could stop an attack.

“The appeal of this move is not lost on me, the negotiating committee or our board members.

“It is a very serious thing, affecting thousands, if not millions, of people across this country and around the world – not just members of this union but also people who work in other industries.”

After decades in the entertainment industry, Drescher has amassed a large social media following. The entertainer has more than 1 million followers on her Instagram page, @officialfrandrescher.

On September 27, 2023, the Actors Guild and AMPTP reached an agreement; the strike ended the same day.

Who is Fran Drescher’s ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson?
Jacobson was born in New York City on October 27, 1957.

He is an American writer, producer, director, and television actor best known as the host of The Nanny’s.

Jacobson was married to Drescher, his high school sweetheart, from 1978 to 1999.

According to People, he told Drescher he was gay two years after the end of their marriage. Despite their split, the couple continued to have a close friendship, even though it was a struggle at first.

In 2011, Drescher told the publication: “I thought, ‘Did he know he was gay when I walked down the aisle?’

“When we fought in high school and he said, ‘I love you but I don’t love you?’ It made me wonder what we really knew.”

She continued: “Our love is everything and unconditional. Those years were not in vain.”

“He came out as gay,” the actress told Fox News in 2019.

“So he’s officially my gay ex-husband. We met when we were 15. We created The Nanny. It became my baby.

“We were excellent writing and producing partners. And now we’re best friends. My parents still think of him as a son.”

The former couple even created a sitcom based on their marriage. Happily Divorced lasted two seasons, premiering on TV Land on June 15, 2011 and ending on February 13, 2013.

The film stars Drescher and actor John Michael Higgins.

Jacobson is active on social media and boasts over 31k followers on his Instagram page, @officialpetermarcjacobson, where he often shares photos with his ex-wife.
